Treasure Hunt by CCCC Students in Pittsboro

The ESL Class in Pittsboro spent a week researching a famous treasure hunt on Oak Island, off the coast of Canada. We learned that people have been trying to find this treasure for hundreds of years. People have even died trying to find the treasure. Most people think that Captain Kidd the Pirate originally buried and booby trapped millions of dollars in gold so nobody can reach it.

The story was so complicated that we drew a giant diagram of the treasure site to help us understand. We included everything that had been found while digging for the treasure.

After drawing the diagram, we watched a documentary about the treasure hunt. It turns out the actual dig site looked a lot like our diagram!

Here is what Maria said about it:
“I like a lot to work at The Treasure Hunt poster. I enjoy this history to read with my partners. it was very interesting history.”
